1. WHAT IS THE MMS ALL ABOUT?

 
  The MMS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of motocross racing for riders of all ages.  Our goal is to teach and foster good sportsmanship first and second, improvement of the riders skills.  We are a family oriented organization.  What other sport do you see kids and their parents hanging out together all weekend?  Kids and parents alike also develop lifelong friendships with other motocross families, so, looking at the big picture...we are all one big family looking out for each other!

  3. WHAT IS THE MMS RACE SCHEDULE?  
   
 

4. WHY IS THE SCHEDULE SPLIT INTO TWO SEASONS?

 
 
  • The race schedule is split into two seasons, spring & fall, so a riders can choose to take part in the championship without having to commit to racing the same organization all race season.
 
  5. WHAT TIMES ARE THE ADMISSION GATES OPEN & HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?  
 
  • The gates are open on the day before the race from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
  • The day of the race the gate is open at 6:00 am.
  • Admission is $5.00 for children 4-12, and $10 for adults.
 
 

6. HOW DO I GET A ONE DAY PASS TO RACE WITH THE MMS & HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

 
 
  • Make sure you have your admission bracelet on.
  • If you are a minor, one of your parents or a legal guardian must accompany you to the sign-up building as well as be there for the entire event.
  • Go to the MMS window at the sign-up building when they are open, typically the morning of the race between 6:30 and 8:00 am.
  • Ask for a "Day Pass". You will receive a short form and the race entry form to fill out.
  • Fill out both forms and go back to the same window, the Day Pass will be $10 and you can pay for your race classes at that same time.
 
 

7. HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF THE MMS & HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

 
 
  • You must obtain a rider number from the MMS.  To do this you can either look at the book at sign-up or on-line or by calling 207-346-6200 or emailing Serae@hemondsmx.com, always choose 3 numbers to make sure we can get you a number you want.
  • You will need to provide a copy of your drivers license or birth certificate (new members only).
  • The membership form may be obtained in 3 ways
    1. By clicking on this link.
    2. At the track.
    3. By calling 207-346-6200 or emailing Serae@hemondsmx.com to have it sent to you in the mail.
  • Fill out the form completely, if you have any question call the number above or email Serae.
  • The form must be notarized.
  • Payment my be made in cash, check or money order made out to the MMS or we also accept VISA or MasterCard.
  • Bring it back to sign-up or send it in the mail to the address on the top of the form.
  • The cost is as follows:
    • At the track ALL yearly memberships are $75.00 (no family discount)
    • Thru the mail membership is $60.00
    • Thru the mail, 1st additional family member in same household is $50.00
    • Thru the mail, all other additional members in same household are $25.00
    • Additional family members are defined as:
      • Spouse or significant other living in the same house
      • Minor children (under 18) living in the same house
 
  8.  WHAT TIME IS RACE REGISTRATION, HOW MUCH DOES IT COST & WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET THERE?  
 
  • Race registration is open the morning of the races 6:30 am to 8:00 am.
  • Race registration for most races is:
    • Free for the 50cc Pee Wee Class
    • $35.00 for the 250cc & 450cc Expert Classes
    • $25.00 for all other classes
  • For special events the registration cost may be different.
  • When you come to sign up make sure you have your admission bracelet on.
  • If you are a minor you must have one of your parents or you guardian with you at sign up as well as through out the entire event.
  • If you are a member show your bracelet and MMS membership card to the person at the window. 
  • If you are not a member you need to go to the MMS window to get a "day pass".
  • Fill out your registration form and sign it.
  • Give it to the person at window with payment for the classes you entered. And you are done.
 
  9. CAN I PRE-ENTER?  
 
  • Not usually, MMS only accepts pre-entry at special events.
 
  10. WHAT CLASS SHOULD I RACE IN?  
 
  • Each rider must race in the same level class as he or she races in any other organization, except for NEMA. A NEMA 125 A (which is a Youth A) can drop down to 250 B.
  • The class you ride is is first determined by the size of the bike you will be riding, your age & then for 65cc bikes or larger, by your skill level. (A or Expert, B or Amateur, C or Novice).
 
  11. WHAT EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED TO RACE?  
 
  • Helmet (for specific info on this go to this link)
  • Goggles
  • Long sleeved durable shirt or jersey
  • Long durable pants or riding pants
  • Minors must wear a full front & back chest protector with shoulder pads
  • Riding gloves
  • Motocross boots
  • Knee & Elbow pads & a kidney belt are highly recommended
 
  12. WHAT IS THE RACE ORDER & HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IT IS FOR TODAY?  
 
  • The race order is the order that the classes are raced in.
  • We race each class twice in a race day
  • You can find a tentative race order in the MMS rule book or on the back of your mechanic's pass if you are a member, but this is usually changed during sign up and posted during practice the morning of the race at the sign up building.
 
  13. HOW ARE THE RACES SCORED?

  • Combined classes race together, but the computer automatically separates them for scoring.
 
  15. HOW ARE CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS ASSIGNED?  
   
  16. HOW ARE PROMOTIONAL POINTS ASSIGNED?  
   
  17. WHAT ABOUT AWARDS?  
 
  • Trophies or plaques are given out 30 minutes after the scores of the second moto of each race has been scored and posted. 
  • All the minor's classes & the Woman's class get awards back to 5th place.
  • The 50+ Open class doesn't receive awards on race day, but does get awards at the Championship Banquet.
  • All other classes get awards back to 3rd place.
