UPDATES

  3/6/2013

RULES:  There has been one change to the rule book for 2013...in the 125cc Youth Classes the rider will now be able to stay in that class until they turn 18. Their age will be determined by how old they are on January 1st of the current year.
RACING WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS:  MMS will be racing with NEMX, NEMA & NESC in 2013.  The combination of the different organizations should bring about some awesome and challenging racing, improving all of the racers chances to gain a great racing experience.  This year the other organizations will not be taken out of the equation when figuring championship points as in the years past.

TRANSPONDERS!!!
It is the up & coming thing!!!  MMS will be using Mylaps transponder scoring for 2013, excluding the 50cc classes, all other racers will need to purchase a transponder if you don't already have one before the first race.  The following link is where you can purchase your transponder.  http://www.mylaps.com/en/products  Please be sure to rear all of the instructions with your transponder and activate & charge it before coming to the track for you first race.  The track has no way of trouble shooting, repairing or charging your transponder.  If you get to the track and your transponder is not working you will have to rent one from the MMS for $10.00 plus a refundable $100.00 cash deposit or you can use a credit card and your drivers license as the deposit. Families my share transponders as long as your classes are not back to back. If you have any questions or concerns about this or hardships please contact Serae at 207-346-6200.

The riders meeting will be at 7:45 in front of the sign up.

  3/14/10
We regret to inform you that the MMS and the MX family of Maine has lost another track, Valley Motorsports Park has closed.  4 of their races have been divided up between HMXP & MX-207.  The race scheduled on August 29th will be cancelled to allow those racers that want to go to the Southwick National to go.
There will be only two tracks for the spring series, but Hemond's will be attempting to rebuild their old track and opening it up for the fall series.  It will still be used during the spring races for the 50cc racers.
Click on the Calandar of Events on the left of the page, to see the revised Schedule

  7/29/09
The promotional points computer glitch has been resolved and the points are posted and accurate.  Please remember, it is ultimately the riders responsibility to keep their own points, not the organization, although we will make every effort to make sure they are accurately posted.  Thank you for you patients while waiting to have this issue resolved.

  7/27/09
Aug 2nd information about the combined race at Hemond's with NEMX:

  • For those racers wishing to race with NEMX on Saturday 8/2 NEMX will not charge a day pass fee to MMS members for that day.

  • MMS racers in the 250 & 450 A and Vet A classes will enter with NEMX instead of MMS, and you will have to pay their $35 entry fee.  NEMX will be paying the Expert Classes.

  • Each class will be scored & awarded together on Sunday, MMS riders will receive their championship points as though NEMX was never there.

  7/25/09
For unforeseen reasons, Spruce Mt. has closed.  Their Aug. 2nd race will be held at Hemond's combined with NEMX with the same format used at the last Hemond's/NEMX race held on 6/7/09, FMI see above.  For questions about this please call 346-6200 and leave a message, I am not in the office during the day, I will return your call in the evening.  The Oct. 4th race date; location TBA.

  7/19/09

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE PROMO PTS. ALL SUMMER.  I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS.  IN RESEARCHING THE ISSUE IT IS A SOFTWARE GLITCH THAT I AM WORKING ON SOLVING ASAP & I WILL POST THE CORRECTED PTS. ASAP.  ULTIMATELY IT IS THE RIDER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP TRACK OF THEIR OWN PROMO PTS.

  1/17/09
  Board Meeting updates:

  • Donna Bradeen will be the MMS assistant manager for 2009.
  • The 50 Plus Open Class will remain in the line up with no trophies, but will become a championship class with plaques back to 3rd place at the banquet.
  • Suzuki Contingency:  $31,500 to the MMS (4 dates), yet to be determined.
  • Trophies or plaques will be awarded back to 5th place in women’s all youth classes and back to 3rd place in all other classes except the 50 Plus Open.  If the tracks are going to spend the money for the awards, then you riders should pick them up.
  • The 125 & 250 classes are changing.
    • The 125 class will now be the 250 class.
      • 125-250cc 2 strokes & 250cc 4 strokes allowed
    • The 250 class will now be the 450 class.
      • 250cc 2 stroke, 250cc & 450cc 4 strokes allowed.
  • Noise is always an issue with motocross!!  Please make sure your exhaust is AMA legal!
  • Your membership card will be available at the tracks at every race to be picked up, make sure you pick it up.  If you go to sign up with out your membership card you will be sent back to get it, if you forgot it at home it will cost you $5.00 to get a new one.  NO CARD, NO SIGN UP, NO EXCEPTION!
  • Sign up is from 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. if you come to sign up after 8:00 you will be charge a $10 late fee (all of the track are enforcing this) so get there before 8:00 a.m.  The only exception to this is if you are inline before 8:00 and are waiting you won’t be charged the late fee.
  • The 50 Pee Wee class will be a non-championship class in 2009.  They will continue to get trophies or plaques at the races.  We feel that at this stage in motocross the riders should be working on skill and good sportsmanship, not competition.
  • The MMS Banquet is March 7th and we are looking for volunteers to help that afternoon & evening setting up, checking people in, help giving out the awards and cleaning up afterward.  Please contact Serae at Serae@hemondsmx.com if you are interested.
  • We will attempt this season to keep the race order as true to what is printed on the mechanics pass as possible.  Sorry about the confusion in the past.
  • We have had several complaints about generator at the tracks being left on late at night.  Internal generators will be allowed to run all night, but external generators must be off between the hours of 11 pm & 6 am.

  1/14/09
All riders must show their membership card and admission bracelet when they register to race.  Membership cards will be available at the MMS window at every track during sign up and through out the day.  If you forgot your card at home you must see the MMS representative to get a new card (you will be charged $5.00).

NO CARD, NO SIGN UP, NO EXCEPTIONS!
